CMs Now Uses ONLY Locally Raised Meat for our Burgers!
We have started using only Cedar Hill Farm's Beef and Turkey for our burgers. Located about 12 miles from CMs in Orange CT; this is a 4th generation family farm. Cedar Hill employs humane and sustainable farming practices. Cows are pasture raised, fed on feed grown almost entirely on their farm, using minimal antibiotics and zero growth hormones.
We use "Farmers Cow" for most of our dairy needs (Eggs, milk cream, 1/2 & 1/2). The Farmer’s Cow is a group of six Connecticut family dairy farms. They are now supplying us with humanely-produced eggs, milk, cream and half & half that are free of artificial growth hormones.
We've been serving lamb for years from Pete Sepe's, Sepe Farm, Sandy Hook, CT. Sepe's lamb is pastured and grain fed (non-GMO grains) in a natural, stress free environment, raised without feeding hormones, additives, or antibiotics.
We've also been serving cheese from Cato Corner Farm in Colchester, CT for years. They make farmstead cheeses by hand from the delicious milk of their 45 Jersey cows. The cows are humanely raised on a pasture-based diet without growth hormones or sub therapeutic antibiotics. They feed a small amount of grain to complement the nutrition in the grass and hay. Their cheeses are their own unique recipes, based on traditional cheese making styles and highlighting the flavor and terroir of their pastures and their farm. Cato Corner Farm is owned and managed by the mother-son team of Elizabeth MacAlister and Mark Gillman.
Also, for years we have been featuring: Bucks Ice Cream in Milford, Bread and Chocolate Bakery in Hamden, Carla's Pasta, South Windsor, to name a few of the other LOCAL produced foods from purveyors, craftsman and artisans we support...
Because we are dealing with small farms we will occasionally run out of some of these items - Kitchen staff will alert you daily if that is the case.
